Lil Nas X Makes a Strong Return With Panini
Lil Nas X drops his highly-anticipated new song Panini, the follow-up track to his massively huge hit record Old Town Road featuring Billy Rae Cyrus. The record, which is off his debut 7 EP, premiered on Zane Lowes World Record on Beats 1 on Apple Music today (June 20). Panini, which is produced by Take A Daytrip, references a character from the popular Cartoon Network TV Series, Chowder.
One interesting note that was pointed out by Pitchfork, was that Kurt Cobain is listed among the songs credits. For the chorus, it was later revealed by Nas X in his interview with Zane Lowe that he accidentally interpolated Nirvanas In Bloom when writing the record.
Like a lot of songs will even come to me like Im sleeping or something, he explained on World Record on Beats 1. Be Like a melody and Im like, wow, thats fly. But the craziest things about Panini, is it introduced me to Nirvanas album Nevermind. Its like I always seen the cover but I never actually listened to it. And people was like, wow he sampled Nirvana. I was like, no. Its like I didnt realize I was using almost the exact same melody. Ive been listening to it a lot lately actually.
He also gave insight on his upcoming EP and his upcoming shows
