The Weeknd's 'The Hills' Certified Diamond: Exclusive

Four years watching his smoldering single "The Hills" bow at No. 1 in 2015 on the Billboard Hot 100, The Weeknd can rightfully celebrate the song's success again once again. On Friday (June 28), The Weeknd became the 23rd artist to have a song earn a Diamond certification from the RIAA, after the single pushed past the 10 million units mark.

"The Hills" was The Weeknd's second No. 1 on the Hot 100, after dethroning fellow Beauty Behind the Madness single "Can't Feel My Face." "The Hills" reigned for six weeks at No. 1, and received the remix treatment from Eminem and Nicki Minaj.

Though The Weeknd has remained mum on the album front, he helped fuel the star-studded single "Power Is Power" for HBO's Game of Thrones compilation album alongside Travis Scott and SZA.

On the business side, the Starboy crooner has been making stellar chess moves as well. Last April, The Weeknd invested in Esports Franchise Overactive Media, making him the first-ever Toronto Defiant and Splyce global ambassador.

"As a big esports fan, I am really excited to be involved in this project," The Weeknd said in a statement. "I am looking forward to collaborating with OverActive Media in unique and innovative ways."
