Hiroshi Fujiwara Shows Off Unreleased fragment design x Air Jordan 3 Sample

Hiroshi Fujiwara has taken to his Instagram to show off an unreleased fragment design x Air Jordan 3 sample. After Fujiwara’s recent displaying of an Air Max 1 with an ACG-style hiking lace system, these Air Jordans add further to the lore surrounding his unreleased “The Ten” collection, an assemblage of Nike and Jordan Brand silhouettes that were never put into production.

Little information about the shoe’s story is provided, with Fujiwara simply stating that it’s a “very old sample” in his caption. The technical “tooling code” accents on the midsole indicate that the design may have been part of his aforementioned “The Ten” — as similar embellishments have appeared on other unreleased styles — though this has not been confirmed.

In classic fragment fashion, the design is both refined and subtle. Uppers are built from a soft grey suede, with darker grey suede present on the perforated middle eyestays and collar. Mudguards, heels and rear overlays feature a smooth and supple black leather, with a signature fragment lightning bolt logo debossed on the lateral heel. Finally, midsoles and outsoles are both dressed in black with the aforementioned “tooling code,” a clear heel Air Max unit and white contrast stitching on the toe bumper.
