Electric scooters have been one of the biggest tech crazes of the last year, with venture capitalists pouring more than $1 billion into the startups. But the fundamental numbers dont add up because the scooters dont bring in enough money to cover their costs. If the business continues on its current path, the scooter hype might be short-lived.
