Technology is shaping all of our futures, but only some of us have the opportunity to influence its direction. Across the world, no matter where you go, all code is English-based; systematically excluding more than five billion people. In this talk, thirteen-year-old Miles Lifton shares a solution hes developing to make coding more language-inclusive. Miles' code is available on https://github.com/thekidcoderdev/pytranslator Miles Lifton is a 13 year old tech prodigy. By seven years old, he learned enough on YouTube to start university level programming. At ten, he won first place at South Floridas largest conference for UX and developers, UX/DEV Summit. Today, he codes in eight languages.
Miles has been a featured speaker at WordCamp Orlando 2017, WordCamp Miami 2017 and 2018, UX/DEV Summit 2018, and New York Tech Summit 2019. He is passionate about breaking down barriers to entry in tech. Currently, Miles is working on a project that will allow non-English speakers the opportunity to innovate in major programming languages.
