"We need to completely dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department." During a Defund MPD march on Saturday, June 6, 2020, Congresswoman Ilhan Omar spoke to thousands of protesters. She said she was elated that a majority of City Council members were for the dismantling of the police department but warned to stay vigilant because "every single progress has been met with regression."
