Madame Gandhi: Tiny Desk (Home) Concert

The Tiny Desk is working from home for the foreseeable future. Introducing NPR Music's Tiny Desk (home) concerts, bringing you performances from across the country and the world. It's the same spirit — stripped-down sets, an intimate setting — just a different space.

Kara Frame | June 24, 2020 With one quick glance, you can guess what Madame Gandhi's favorite color is. Surrounded by her yellow bongos and congas, a yellow desk from her youth and a yellow nightstand, her Tiny Desk (home) concert lighting nods to her 2019 Visions EP cover with the same lavender-lemon look. She's intentional with everything she does — from working with primarily queer womxn BIPOC on tour and video sets, to writing socially-conscious lyrics that challenges the white male dominated music industry. Madame Gandhi's clear but soft voice over swells of percussive instrumentation gives you space to meditate on her message of inclusion and equality.

SET LIST "Waiting For Me" "Moon in the Sky" "Bad Habits"
